Brain Discovery Exercise
Brain Discovery Exercise is the first step in becoming familiar with your brain in Dahn Yoga. This exercise will ask you to imagine the brain as if you are actually looking at it, and to concentrate and expand the sensation you receive as you gaze carefully at the various parts of your own brain. You might feel a prickling sensation, a tingling feeling akin to a slight electrical current, or even a refreshing dissolving sensation.
Ilchi Lee principle of Shim-Ki-Hyul-Jung (energy flows to where the mind goes) is the basis for this exercise. A continuation of this exercise will result in a lowered state of brain wave activity, calmness of mind, and increased concentration. If you study a color-coded diagram of the brain, or practice drawing one by yourself, it will help you imagine your own brain during this exercise and increase its effectiveness.
