Dahn Yoga honors Durango studio in Nevada, where enthusiasts perform breathing exercises for anxiety
Dahn Yoga has long been recognized by enthusiasts worldwide as a health-boosting regimen that combines the holistic benefits of stretching, posing and performing breathing exercises for anxiety. The tranquil mind-body system has also held its own in the ranks of other effective pain management techniques without medication. Many individuals with a range of conditions – such as fibromyalgia and migraines – have reported that the Eastern art helps them manage their symptoms and alleviate discomfort.
Recently, Dahn Yoga and Health Centers designated the Durango Dahn Yoga studio as July 2011's Center of the Month. The facility is located 20 minutes away from Las Vegas, Nevada, and was recognized for providing a warm, welcoming environment to yoga enthusiasts of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels.
Sungchul Jang, who serves as manager of the Durango Center, has been an instructor for four years. He said that during that time, he has been impressed with the strong work ethic of the members in his community, many of whom are employed by casinos and work on weekends to make ends meet. According to Jang, these hardworking individuals are the perfect candidates for the practice of yoga.
"Because my classes are hard, one of the members even burst out asking if it was some Olympic event," he said. "However, their bodies change through the practice, so they naturally come to enjoy it and their hearts open up."
The Durango Center is located in an area of Nevada known for its fresh air and positive energy. Those who come to engage in the gentle art of yoga find an oasis of peace away from the busy, stress-filled environment of Las Vegas.
