Yoga classes are the preferred form of exercise for many Americans, and although the regimen is most popular among adults, more people are including their children when they attend these relaxing programs. According to the News and Star, one class in the UK is promoting yoga for children who wish to bring their teddy bears along.
The class, which meets once a week, is taught by Jana Mulholland, who said that encouraging kids to have fun and enjoy yoga helps them understand how special and valuable they are.
"The kids love their teddy bears even when they get older. They bring their teddy to the class and I get teddy to do some poses and then the children copy it," she told the news source. "I teach the yoga through a story and bring breathing exercises into it. I bring songs into it and we go on adventures along the way."
She added that parents often join in the fun and that the experience can be a great bonding opportunity for families.
According to Mulholland, yoga classes have the potential to change and enhance people's lives, allowing their true selves to shine forth.
